During the Second World War, this fort was converted into a detention camp by the Germans. It housed nearly 7,000 prisoners from 1940 to 1944. Therefore, this fort is a massive part of historical heritage! You can discover poignant testimonies and explore the dungeons and the interrogation room. The location also offers an impressive panorama of the city of Huy and its surroundings. Temporary exhibitions, animations, and shows are regularly organized there. In addition, the fort also has indoor and outdoor picnic areas. Everything you need to have a nice time with your family and explore history!
To discover Fort Huy in an original and playful way, we advise you to try its escape game, “The Great Escape.” Dive into 1943 in the city of Huy as a prisoner in the fort. Your mission? Escape from the Wehrmacht guards in less than an hour! To do so, you will have to find the clues and solve all the riddles. This activity is a total immersion in the past that will delight children but also parents. This activity is ideal for learning history while having fun. In general, this game promotes teamwork and cognitive and creative development!
The Bastogne War Museum offers you a historical tour in a jeep, an authentic military vehicle of the era! This family excursion lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes. It will take you to the most important places of the Battle of Bastogne. You will also be accompanied by a driver who will answer all your questions about this battle or about this unusual means of transportation. This tour is a unique moment to share with your family to discover history. For the sporty, the tour of the sites can also be visited by bicycle.

This activity combines sport, fresh air, and history. Hop on your mountain bike and discover the battlefield with your family. Between white roads, shell holes, and paths, you will follow the evolution of the destruction of the defense works. During this excursion, you will be accompanied by ASPTT animators who will guide you all along the circuit. There will be historical breaks to catch your breath, admire the landscape, and discover impressive historical sites! This bike ride will allow the children to enjoy their day and get some exercise while learning.
This critical battle occupied the north of Luxembourg. It took place during the winter of 1944-1945. Today, this territory is full of places of commemoration in homage to the soldiers and civilians so as not to forget the history and their courage.
On-site, we offer you a supervised expedition rich in events. A day trip is suggested to discover unique and emotional places. You will have the opportunity to visit the US Memorial in Hosingen and the water tower, followed by a visit to the “Sauer River Crossing .” But there are also many more surprises!
