The Verdun region lets you walk in the footsteps of the soldiers of the Great War thanks to a hike led by an ONF guide. It's a unique opportunity to discover the battlefields that marked our history in an authentic way.
Usually, the first words that come to mind when one mentions Verdun are “war,” “soldiers,” and “trenches.” Indeed, the territory has hosted many significant events related to the war. However, it is also a lovely setting for walks. With its green surroundings, the region offers magnificent landscapes. Thanks to a specialized forestry technician of the region, we can discover beautiful places that are unknown and sometimes inaccessible to the general public. This hike offers you a unique experience in total safety, thanks to the ONF guides.
The itinerary goes through some byways that allow us to discover the secrets of the battlefield. Fort Souville, the site of the Bois des Caures, and many other surprises are to be found. The hike extends over a distance of 3km and lasts about 3 hours. A leisurely pace allows you to fully enjoy the landscape while listening to the guide’s anecdotes. This activity is perfect for families or friends and is not only reserved for the more athletic!
The hikes take place all year round, and you will find all the dates and reservation information on the Verdun tourism website.
